Sound Technician | Hersheypark
RWS Global is currently seeking an Audio Technician for Hersheypark in Hershey, PA who is responsible for the effective operation of all sound related equipment as well as basic maintenance and quality control.
Contract Dates: September 4th- November 3rd
Location: Hersheypark
Pay: $800/week
About the role…
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the audio aspects of some, if not all of the entertainment venues. Reporting to the TD/Venue Manager, Audio Technician will be responsible for the set up and operation of all audio needs within the venues inclusive of special events, run of performances and general maintenance of the sound equipment. This role will directly interact with park personnel as well as cast members and should be comfortable running a show in one or multiple venues nightly.
What’s expected…
- Communicate with vendors, laborers and client-based technical personnel for organization and execution of the productions to be safe and professional.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable with various digital and analogue audio equipment (RF systems, compressors, graphic EQ’s, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mix and run shows on both digital and analog equipment.
- Experience in basic programming and operation of Qlab
- Preset and run all events taking place in assigned venues.
- These events will range from a single speaker to staged production incorporating live vocals and band.
- Complete post sets following each performance/event, ensuring that equipment is properly stored.
- Regularly safety inspect and maintain audio equipment in venues.
- Effectively troubleshoot and report on all audio issues.
- Assist with overall production needs as reasonably requested inclusive of striking any set/props.
- Assist with overall production needs as reasonably requested.
- Acquire and demonstrate awareness of both RWS’ and the venue’s safety procedures including Emergency Action Plans, PPE Requirements, Lock-out Tag-out Procedures and additional protocols.
- Oversee the running of shows (6) nights per week.
- Provide written maintenance logs outlining details of any issues and resolution procedures.
- Assist with overall production needs as reasonably requested.
- Provide sound assistance for any events to take place within any venue as reasonably requested.

What you bring…
- Minimum BFA/BA degree in theatrical management (production, stage or technical) or 3 years of in field experience required
- Experience in the entertainment and live event production industry
- Operational and technical knowledge of audio equipment
- Cruise Line or Touring Experience suggested, but not required
- Ability to remain positive and push thru in stressful situations, while still accomplishing daily work
- Ability to communicate with multiple departments onboard, understanding how the entertainment team, folds into the bigger operation
- Ability to work seven (7) days per week for periods of up to 6 months at a time
- Ability to stand for long periods, work at height as required, and consistently lift 75 pounds in fulfillment of responsibilities
- Ability to learn and abide by all safety regulations as outlined on site
- The ability to analyze and evaluate the need for technical support for various events and performances
